Fashion is fast-moving, diverse and global. With historical, cultural and social significance.
Introducing Fashion Society – the new creative hub for young people aged 13-18 15-18 olds with a fascination for fashion. The course consists of either 10 or 20 after school sessions of 2 hours, covering key modules focused on understanding all aspects of the fashion industry through a curriculum that includes, amongst other areas, design, branding, trends, styling, buying, business, PR and marketing.
You will also learn about the social, economic and cultural factors. From photographers, stylists, art directors, fashion show producers, to digital creatives, writers, journalists and theorists.
Each student will be accredited with a Fashion Society certificate offering a pathway into further creativity, practical and intellectual development. The course will build a repertoire of skills that will be beneficial for future studies in not only Fashion but the Arts, Business and Economics.
The course will be held at school from 4-6 pm in a nurturing, dynamic environment over terms which encourages originality and innovation.
This exciting course has been designed for those who want a broad understanding of the fashion industry and the career opportunities that exist. Over twenty sessions the students will get to explore design, branding, trends, business, buying, styling, photography, sustainability, PR and marketing.
The students will also learn about the social, economic and cultural factors effecting the fashion industry today.
This course is unique in that as well as being delivered by lead tutors there will also be interviews with photographers, stylists, art directors, buyers, make-up artists, business owners, journalists and theorists.
